Changes…
The last few weeks have been very busy for us, and it looks like there really isn’t an end in sight for all the activities going on around here!
First things first, ladies and gentleman, Dave and I have officially stepped into the realm of parenthood that is usually reserved for sports-playing, bumper sticker adorning parents. That’s right, we bought a mini-van. I love it and I’m probably the only 24 year-old female out there who desires to drive a van. It’s great!!! I love the space.
Second big news: Many of you know through posts here and conversations, that I was really, REALLY struggling to find a fit at Miami. I just couldn’t find anything that felt *right* as my major and possible career choice. So after prayerful consideration, Dave and I decided that free tuition at Miami just wasn’t worth me trying to find something that is second best. I applied to the University of Cincinnati to their Radiation Therapy program. It’s highly competitive and I was worried I wouldn’t get in, but it’s official as of yesterday that this fall, I will be in the UC Radiation Therapy program!! For those of you who have no idea what this is…it’s everything that is perfect for me…it’s medical, it’s scientific, it’s challenging and it’s rewarding. Radiation Therapists use radiation to zap tumors! Once I graduate, I’ll work with cancer patients and administer their radiation treatments. I am so excited. I would love to work in pediatrics and help be a part of fighting childhood cancer. I know you’re thinking, is this girl ever going to stick with a major?! And the answer is yes. I’ve now switched majors 4 times and after switching universities as well, I’ve been threatened that I’m not allowed to change my mind again…so this is it! And it’s ok, because this is everything I was looking for!
Enough about me… Dave is still training for his triathlon that is coming up soon. He’s working hard and trying to wrap up the semester. Brody is getting so big at almost 15 months old. He’s babbling a lot, running around and being as cute as ever. Mason is talking so much now and it’s exciting to watch him learn so many new things. All 3 boys (;-)) are enjoying the nice weather and getting out to play ball, ride bikes (or trikes!), take walks and shoot hoops in our Little Tykes 3 feet tall hoop!
That’s all for now. I think Dave is working on putting up pictures in a new format so that they are easier and quicker to view. I hope everyone is enjoying spring!
