Protecting our Family…

*Sponsored Post*

After visiting the safety fair last week, I was reading through all the pamphlets they handed out to us. After reading one about burglary and how to make sure your house is safe, I was amazed at just how many ways burglars can find their way into your home! I arranged to make several improvements on things around the house, such as a bar in or sliding glass door, little alarms in certain “high risk” places and I’ve resorted to using more light at night- such as porch lights, and back yard spot lights as well as motion lights. These often deter burglars from your home! Dave and I have been the victim of many a car theft (five, if you so care to know the actual number) and I will do anything it takes to protect my family and my children.

A recent article of debate that I read discussed how in the author’s opinion, all families should have a gun. I often wonder if that’s the safest thing, especially for a family with small children, but it didn’t prevent me from entertaining the idea briefly. I even went so far as to check out tactical holster. While this isn’t the best solution for our family, it’s one that I know a few friends have resorted to in the recent past.

It’s funny how becoming a parent changes your view on things. I was a lot more careless with my life until I had these two little beings to watch over and protect. And I would do anything to keep them safe. Our house at this point is about as safe as we can get it… from child proofing, alarms, locks, lighting, fences and more…I’m determined to do all I can to keep the little guys safe! Oh yeah..and there is car seat safety…but that’s a whole other post ;-) .
