We’re still around!

First of all, you’ve probably noticed by now that we have had a few posts that you are wondering what in the world we’re talking about! I’ve found a way to make a few extra dollars by promoting products on our site. All of the posts that are paid advertisements will be marked as *Sponsored Post* so you’ll know when it’s not an update on our family!

Now on to more important things:

Dave successfully completed his triathlon and made me proud yet again! I’m so inspired by people who can do such athletic events. Having had asthma all my life, I’ve never been one for anything that requires athletic ability, so I find it amazing when people complete such physically tiring events. Dave is also working hard at work right now, as always!

I’m hanging in there as well. My school plans are not going as expected as I learned that the program I had been excitedly accepted into at UC is being cut back and now I’m about 5 years down on the waiting list. I’ve decided to stay on the waiting list and in the mean time finish up my Bachelor’s at Miami in Health Studies. It’s broad, covering all aspects of health and the human body and well as some research aspects to it as well. It should be interesting. I’ll hopefully finish that and be able to use it as a degree that helps me learn more about the human body and prepares me for a future career in the medical field. Ideally, I’d still like to be a part of the Radiation Therapy program at UC, but we’ll see where life has placed us in 5 years or so! So I’m just taking life one day at a time. It would appear that my lack of ability to settle on a career path, followed by being set back by the one I do finally choose would mean there are bigger and better plans in store for me. So I’m along for the ride, waiting to see what happens next and in no real hurry to get there. I’m just enjoying every day I have home with my boys!

Which takes me to the kiddos…
Mason- well, he’s two-and-a-half. What more can I say?! While he likes to test his boundaries and try our patience day in and day out, he really is a sweet kid. He’s smart and funny and we just love to be around him. He’s really fascinated with learning right now and has learned his ABCs (or his ABs, as he calls them!), knows his shapes and we’re working on numbers and colors. We love our big man to death and he’s an awesome kiddo! He’s a total Daddy’s boy. Daddy recently taught Mason to say “Mommy is a Hippo”. Thanks hun, love you too.

Mason is really into anything that goes. So far this summer, he’s ridden a train, a school bus, been inside a helicopter as well as a plane. Following each event, that’s all we heard about for days. He’s obsessed with transportation vehicles of any sort and I’m quite positive touching a dump truck would be the next best thing to heaven for this kid! He loves to narrate what every vehicle is that we pass on the road. Our conversations in the car typically go as follows: Momma, look! Dump truck. Momma look! Garbage truck… mail truck…cement truck…school bus… car…van…truck… french fries (as we pass McDonalds)…

Brody- well, he’s the rotten, mischievous one. He’s always looking for trouble and 9 times out of 10 he finds it. He likes to show his big brother how to get into trouble too. He’s also a smart little thing. He is saying about 5-6 words now and he’s also a blast. He’s dramatic, spirited and an absolute hoot. He’s a momma’s boy, which I love. He loves to be held, cuddled and often cries just so I’ll pick him up. Goofball. Brody is into whatever Mason has in his hand… and he goes for it, while much to his dismay, he often gets shoved away and leaves empty handed. I sure do love my baby boy and I can’t believe he’s over 16 months old already. Seems so hard to fathom!

That’s all for now :-) Thanks for checking in on the Ensors!
