High Wind Advisory…
Sunday morning started out like any other. We were up, ready for a day of football and enjoying a nice sunny day. The weather men for the day had issued a “High Wind Advisory”. That’s all that was said. Someone failed to mention that by high wind, they meant hurricane strength winds that would knock out power (for DAYS), close down the city, crush cars, blow trampolines away and uproot trees that had been standing for upwards of 80 years.
All of the city is still not up and running, over 72 hours later. Schools are still closed, gas is a rare thing to find. 70+mph winds are rough on a city like Cincy whose structures just aren’t used to sustaining such impacts.
We got by with only losing a brand new trampoline (which found it’s way across the street and into a car windshield), gutters, shingles and a few large limbs. Other people weren’t so lucky.
