Fun times!
Thursday was Brody’s 2nd birthday party at Bananas. We had a blast. He had 13 friends that came and played for 2 hours on all the inflatables! Everyone seemed to have a great time. It was followed up by cake, juice and presents! The boys talked about it all the way home and I think they had a lot of fun!
Friday was Brody’s check-up at the doctor. I don’t want to be one of those braggish moms, but the doctor was amazed at his verbal ability. Technically the “milestone” that all boys by the age of 2 should reach is putting 2 words together. Brody speaks full 7-8 word sentences that nearly all adults can understand. That is a big accomplishment for a toddler boy. Boys tend to be slower in verbal abilities than girls. We’ve been amazed for a while at his ability, and it was nice to hear how good he’s doing! He’s just shy of 36 inches tall (80th%) and 28.5 pounds (50th%). He’s tall and skinny! (And tall enough with shoes to ride the kiddy rides at Kings Island this year…yay!!!) Everything else looked great.
Friday was also soccer practice. This week was MUCH better. The boys loved being on the same team and had so much more fun. Dave and I enjoyed it also as the 2s team is a parent interactive team so we got to both be on the field with them. It’s so cute to see them running around in their yellow team shirts kicking a ball into tiny little goals! Total cuteness!
One of Brody’s gifts at his party was a gift card to Build-a- Bear. So on Saturday, we headed to Kenwood Town Center to the Build-a-Bear store to make our stuffed animals! Mason made a black puppy dog and named him “Buster” whom he dressed in a sporty basketball uniform complete with a tiny basketball! Brody made an elephant that he dressed in a soccer uniform and whom Daddy named “Pele”.
We’ve had a great weekend so far and we’re glad the temps have reached 40 and the snow is melting! And…the sun is shining!!!!
