My amazing hubby…

As I type this, I’m sitting at the Cincinnatian Hotel in a quiet room! Dave did something spectacular for me! My birthday is the 13th, the day before Valentine’s day. I joke with Dave that I always get jipped since I usually get one “combo” dinner, card and maybe a gift/flowers. I don’t really mind, but I like to give him a hard time. We’ve had a hectic few months and Dave decided to do something special for me this year. All on his own, he got a babysitter for today and tomorrow, got a hotel, made dinner reservations, and planned an evening of shopping and walking the city.

He couldn’t have picked a better weekend to do so! It’s been in the upper 40s, low 50s all day and it’s made for the perfect weather to walk around town! We had dinner at Benihanas, went shopping at the mall, walked the streets of Cincy, shopped in a few stores down here and now we’re just relaxing in the room…enjoying the quiet and the time together…alone! It’s nice to get away from the hectic-ness of two toddler boys every now and then.

Tomorrow we’ll have to go home at some point, but not before sleeping in, a quiet breakfast and then off to sign Mason up for preschool for fall. Can you believe my baby boy is old enough for preschool…I can’t!

I have a wonderful husband who takes such good care of me! And I’m so impressed he planned this all on his own! You may not think it’s much…but he knows me well enough to know that I’m not leaving the kids for any longer than this and I’m not leaving the state without them… so a quick overnight trip downtown was perfect for this overprotective momma! One day, maybe we’ll take a real trip without them… like maybe once they go off to college or something .
