Better Days!

Well, as the week went on, the days got better (but not until Thursday).

Tuesday night, Grandma Linda came over as usual to play. They boys were wrestling and playing in the floor, when Brody tripped and ran head first into a corner. Off to Urgent Care. Three stitches in the forehead later, we came home.

On Wednesday, we met with Brody’s neurologist who informed us that his EEG was indeed abnormal. They decided to schedule and MRI for this coming Friday. He has to be sedated for it, but that’s ok. They are looking at a couple specific places and also checking on the “cyst” (which the neurologist said he wasn’t 100% convinced that’s all it was, but the MRI would tell us more). After that, we have to schedule a 3-day EEG. They are going to admit him and try to induce seizures to see what part of the brain is involved. The neurologist thinks it’s more likely that he’s suffering from migraines, which if severe enough can cause seizures in younger children. We’ll see.

After I got home from that appointment, I got a call that Mason’s EGD is scheduled for Friday, May 7th. In one week’s time, I will see both of my children sedated…yuck.

And I will be sure to personally invite each of you to the ribbon cutting ceremony of the ‘Ensor Wing’ at Children’s. I’m pretty sure I should be receiving a call for such an honor soon…;).

After that excitement, we were in much need of a break. Dave finished up his last day at Miami University and we headed out to Great Wolf Lodge. This place was amazing. The rooms were adorable and the boys loved having their own little space with bunk beds. The pool area was awesome and Dave and I had more fun than the kids riding the rides and slides. They had an amazing arcade, bed time story and show in the main lobby and it was an overall great time. I would definitely recommend it. They boys were exhausted, but didn’t want to leave!

Brody got his stitches out this morning and then we headed to his first swim lesson. He did great. He loves the water and is quite the little fish! Mason had a T-Ball game today too, and he is quite the little all-star. When we put his uniform on he informs us that he looks “so slick” and refuses to take it off the rest of the day.

I’m looking forward to an uneventful week this week. Dave starts his new job on Monday and the boys and I will hopefully get to hit up the museum and zoo this week for some fun!
